I am a native of Snellville, GA and attended Gwinnett County Schools from kindergarten through twelfth grade. I had a passion for music from a very early age and decided to go into teaching while I was a junior in high school.
I earned my Bachelor in Music Education (Magna Cum Laude) from Shorter College in 2004. While at Shorter, I studied voice, choral methods, conducting, music history, theory, and piano. I began teaching in Gordon County Schools in August of 2004. I then earned my Master in Music Education from the University of Georgia in 2007. This is my 14th year teaching music in Gordon County.
I began singing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus in 2007 and am beginning my 11th season this fall. I have performed in Carnegie Hall (New York), the Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.), and the Berlin Philharmonie (Germany). I am beginning my 3rd season with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chamber Chorus. I'm thankful to have the opportunity to continue performing, and it is my hope to instill a lifelong love of music in my students.
I currently live in Adairsville with my husband, children, and cat :)
